Welcome to A Rain of Ink! This blog is for the serious novel writer, the one that sits down for ten hours of the day and writes... I'm just kidding. This blog, in all actuality, is for the people like me - the ones that get an amazing story idea, and never have the guts to finish it. On here, we'll (hopefully) become a band of authors determined to write, write and edit until we publish a manuscript! (...Yes, that was off of the old blog.)
Once we get a couple more members and stories, we'll split up into smaller groups - for now, two genre groups: Historical
Fiction/Drama/Romance and Fantasy/Science Fiction/Mystery/Action. Each group will have a coordinator, and will send out their word count out to their group.
Every author will have to complete a Novel Form, and any other optional forms they would like to. This is so that the rest of us can get a general sense of what your novel's about, even if we're not reading it. (They'll be posted in the next couple of posts.)
Everyone will also have to set a weekly word count goal, the number of words they would like to write that week, and send it out to their group. Their group will then send the word count back, along with their comments. It would be easiest to use a gmail account to communicate.
Once a month, everyone will get together and have a gmail chat (It's optional, but it'll be fun, and a helpful opportunity to get some more feedback on your word count!) The group coordinator may also arrange another chat for their own group.
